We are located in Pune, India, and serve software product companies across the globe; focusing on enterprise SaaS, eCommerce, cloud, and application development.

We’re looking for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for one of our client with a forward-thinking communications platform revolutionizing how businesses connect. They specialize in delivering robust, scalable VoIP and SIP solutions with a focus on reliability, innovation, and seamless customer experience. The position is to lead SIP and VoIP engineering efforts and contribute to the design, optimization, and advancement of our core communication products

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the in-house expert on SIP and VoIP engineering, driving architectural decisions and product innovations.
  • Architect and deploy scalable SIP trunking solutions, including dynamic provisioning, multi-region failover, and carrier interconnect strategies.
  • Design and implement integration workflows between cloud-hosted and on-premises PBX systems.
  • Analyze and optimize SIP call flows including INVITE, BYE, ACK messages, SDP negotiation, and NAT traversal techniques (STUN, TURN, ICE).
  • Manage codec handling (e.g., G.711, G.729, Opus) and ensure robust media negotiation and quality.
  • Lead SIP trace diagnostics and monitoring using tools like Wireshark and sngrep; perform deep analysis of registration tracking and system health.
  • Administer SIP registration servers, applying effective load balancing and failover strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including security, compliance, and product management to ensure solutions align with organizational goals.


Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in SIP and VoIP engineering.
  • Deep understanding of SIP protocols, message structures, call routing, media negotiation, and NAT traversal.
  • Proven experience designing and deploying elastic SIP trunking architectures.
  • Strong command over SIP monitoring and analysis tools.
  • Experience integrating VoIP systems with cloud and on-prem PBX environments.
  • Solid grasp of telecom codecs and media stream management.
  • Familiarity with governance, risk, and compliance standards applicable to telecom and SaaS domains.
  • Nice to have
    • Experience in a high-growth SaaS or telecommunications environment.
    • Exposure to security best practices in VoIP systems.
    • Ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Strong documentation, communication, and leadership abilities

    • Communicate on Jira - prior knowledge of using Jira is mandatory
